The Learning Commons

 is open during school hours from: 

9:15 to 3:45

FOR STUDENTS:

Our school library offers a large variety of print and electronic resources for students and staff.  There is something for everyone's learning style, reading level and taste.


The Fiction collections include:

a general fiction collection (grade 3 and up)

a picture book collection (Everyone books)

a junior-fiction collection (beginning chapter books)

a graphic novel collection 

a beginning reader's collection

a dual language collection

Young adult books (grades 7 & 8)


The largest collection in our school library is the non-fiction collection.  It is in this collection that factual books on just about any topic from animals to social sciences to geography and history can be found for pleasure reading or for school projects.

 

Databases & Web Sites & Video Streaming

 

Students can also access many electronic databases, websites, and video streaming as found on the Elementary Internet Tools page.  When at school, this is the page that first appears when students or staff members select the internet. From home this page can be found at:

To access databases audio books, e-books, and streaming videos, remotely (i.e. from home) students and staff should use their HDSB Network Login and Password when prompted.

 

E-Books and Audio Books

 

Students and staff can also access and download e-books and audio books by visiting either our school library catalogue (limit search to digital resources) or the HDSB Library Services Overdrive website.
